Charleston Bicycle Tours

... was the best bike tour we have experienced. Over the past 35 years, we have taken many bike tours in the USA, Canada, and Europe with a number of companies. Not one of those tours compares with the service, the accommodations, the choice of restaurants, and the historical knowledge of the areas that we experienced last month with Alex and Karen.

Visiting the Low Country with Karen and Alex Graham as your tour guides is like spending a week visiting two of your favorite out-of-town relatives. They were wonderful hosts who took great delight in showing us Charleston, Beaufort, and Savannah during our 6 days together.

The main reason this tour was so successful for me and my wife, is that it is owned and operated by a native South Carolinian and his wife. They offer insight, expertise, knowledge, and a southern flair that I doubt could be matched by an out of the area tour company. Alex and Karen epitomize Southern hospitality.

Charleston, Beaufort and Savannah
We have one word to describe our week-long experience with Charleston Bicycle Tours---OUTSTANDING! Alex and Karen Graham are wonderful ambassadors of Charleston and Savannah, made us feel very welcome, and certainly gave us a taste of the South with their historical knowledge and carefully crafted travel itinerary. They didn’t overlook any detail in making our biking experience truly memorable.

We spent a week on a "custom tour" of Charleston and Savannah and surrounding islands and plantations. Alex and Karen were amazing hosts and tour guides: Beautiful bike rides (off the beaten track), a delicious catered lunch in a gazebo on a tea plantation, great dinner choices/reservations. Lots of history. Alex and Karen and real pros and the attention to detail was impressive.

The Florida Keys and Key West
…the cycling was planned in line with the next meal stop suited us to a tee! The trip included some excellent and unique restaurants, …as well as a sunset cruise on an old sloop. It was well organized, lots of fun and we are looking forward to the next trip with Alex and Karen.

Asheville and its surrounding mountain valleys
Went on another fantastic tour with Charleston bike tour with Alex and Karen. This was my favorite tour of theirs and I have been on three so far. The scenery was gorgeous with rolling hills, farmland and along rivers, cute small towns. If you have not been biking, it's still a great ride with support van if you can't make it up moderate hill roads. Charleston bike tours does not disappoint so much planning goes into their trips and Alex and Karen are wonderful trip leaders. I highly recommend any of their trips, but Asheville scenery is so beautiful!

We were fortunate to choose Alex and Karen's touring company to see Savannah and nearby low country environs in late October. The riding was great, but this was not just a bike trip. It was an exploration of the culture, food, history, architecture and natural beauty of this region. The riding was a great way to stitch it all together. And, on top of all that, the best part was our hosts Alex and Karen.
